LyricsI’ve walked through shadows, stumbled in doubt
wrestled with silence when prayers ran out. Pages torn, stories left half-told. But grace was hiding in the fold There were seasons where nothing made sense I blamed the waiting, called it consequence But even in stillness, He was writing through A plotline only heaven knew
God hasn’t wasted a single chapter Not the pain, not the pause, not the scattered laughterNot the nights I cried, not the dreams I chased
Every line redeemed by amazing graceNo, God hasn’t wasted a single page
I chased a few dreams off the beaten trackTook some squirrel trails and didn’t look back
But mercy met me every time I fellTurned detours into stories to tell
God hasn’t wasted a single chapter Not the pain, not the pause, not the squirrel trail afterNot the lost, not the found, not the space between
He was working where I couldn’t seeYeah, God hasn’t wasted a single page
I thought the broken parts would be erasedBut He framed ‘em all in love and grace
Now every scar’s a sacred lineProof He was there the whole time
God hasn’t wasted a single chapterNot the mess, not the grief, not what I was after
He rewrote my wrongs with nail-pierced hands And now I finally understand God hasn’t wasted a single page
So if you’re stuck in the middle, don’t turn awayThe Author’s still writing—He’s not done today
We all have chapters we wish we could rip out: mistakes, heartbreaks, long silences. But nothing in the hands of God is wasted. He redeems it all—every squirrel trail, every scar. Your story isn’t over, and the Author isn’t done.
Look back over a “wasted” season and write a short prayer thanking God for what He may have been doing behind the scenes.
God, thank You for never tossing me aside. Redeem my regrets. Remind me that every page—especially the painful ones—are part of Your perfect plan. Amen.
