LyricsI prayed with faith, stood on Your word
Thought I knew what I deserved Waited long at opportunity’s gate But silence whispered, “Not today” I dressed the dream, rehearsed the call Built up the courage to risk it all But when the knob would not turn in my hand I didn’t know how to understand
When the door didn’t open, You still made a way Through walls I never thought would break When it looked like no was the final word You wrote a story I hadn’t heard It wasn’t rejection—it was redirection
Maybe I’d outgrown what I’d planned to do Or maybe it never fit the view But in every “no” I came to hear A better “yes” drawing near Not every locked door means I’ve failed Some are closed to keep me well And every turn I thought was wrong Was part of Your plan all along
When the door didn’t open, You still made a way Through walls I never thought would break When it looked like no was the final word You wrote a story I hadn’t heard It wasn’t rejection—it was redirection
Now I thank You for the paths I missed For the closed doors that led to this
Sometimes unanswered prayers are the greatest gifts. When a door doesn’t open, it’s not always a punishment—it may be God’s mercy. Delays aren’t denials. Redirection is protection.
Write down a closed-door moment. Then list 3 things you’ve learned—or are learning—from it.
Prayer:Lord, help me trust
You even when I don’t understand. Thank You for every door You’ve closed. Lead me through the one You’ve opened instead. Amen.
