Galatians 2:20 – 'I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.'Isaiah 41:10 – 'So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.'
John 12:26 – 'Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.'
We spend so much of life trying to protect our name—our reputation, image, credibility. When someone talks about us unfairly, something rises up in us screaming to set the record straight. We build walls of defense and fight battles to keep our standing intact.
But Galatians 2:20 hits like a wrecking ball: 'I no longer live.' The person we’re fighting so hard to protect—the image we’re desperate to save—is dead. Crucified. Buried with Christ. That means your reputation isn’t
actually yours anymore—it belongs to Him.
When you let Jesus live through you, He becomes your identity, your security, your banner of honor. The Father Himself promises to
lift up those who serve Him faithfully—not those who claw their way to be seen.
This day is about unclenching your fists from defending yourself. Every word said against you, every misunderstanding—it’s not your fight anymore. Christ is your vindication. Freedom comes when you can whisper, 'Lord, my name is in Your hands. I trust
You to fight for me.'
Write your full name on a piece of paper. Beneath it, write these words: 'This name belongs to Jesus.' Pray over it and place it somewhere visible this week as a daily reminder to let Him be your defender.
In Your Hands
Verse 1:I’ve been running from the rumors
Hiding in my shame
But You’ve spoken truth eternal
You’ve called me by my name
Chorus:
In Your hands, my life is safe
Your grace alone defines my faith
No voice can steal the truth You give
In Christ alone, I live
Verse 2:
Every fear is fading slowly
As I trust in who You are
You restore what pride has stolen
And heal my wounded scars
Bridge:
You’re my shelter and my song
In Your hands, I belong
Lord Jesus, I admit that I have spent too much of my life trying to prove myself, defend myself, and protect my image. I’ve carried wounds from words spoken against me and exhaustion from battles I should never have fought. I surrender my name to You. Let my reputation rest in Your hands alone. Help me to care more about reflecting Your glory than preserving mine. Teach me to live crucified to self and fully alive in You. Amen.
