Walking By Sound

Day 1: Stronger Than They See

Theme

Many people living with MS face the challenge of “looking fine” on the outside while battling fatigue, pain, or cognitive fog on the inside. This can lead to frustration when others—sometimes even close friends or family—minimize your struggle. God sees the reality of your pain, understands every invisible symptom, and validates your worth.

Scripture

“People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” — 1 Samuel 16:7b (NIV)

Devotional

The hardest days aren’t always the ones when you can’t get out of bed. Sometimes it’s when you push through, smile, and function “normally” — only to hear, “You look great! You must be feeling better.” It’s not that people mean harm; they just can’t see what’s happening beneath the surface. God sees. He knows every nerve signal, every muscle spasm, every moment of brain fog. He knows the effort it takes just to “show up” some days. You don’t have to prove your pain or your worth to anyone. Instead, lean into the One who truly understands. Jesus validated the unseen in others — the faith of the bleeding woman, the longing of Zacchaeus, the hunger of the crowd before they even spoke. He is your safe place to be fully known. Music Link:

Stronger Than They See

Lyrics

Verse 1They see me smiling, walking tallBut they can’t feel the weight at allThe storms inside, the sleepless nightsThe quiet battles out of sight
ChorusStronger than they see, You’re carrying meThrough the pain they’ll never knowEvery hidden tear, Lord, You draw me nearAnd Your strength still overflowsYou see the truth inside of meI’m stronger than they see
Verse 2Some days I break but don’t let it showThe hardest part is they’ll never knowBut You were there through every mileEvery step, every forced smile
BridgeYour eyes see deeper than my skinYou know the war I’m fighting inAnd in Your love I find my restEven when I’m not at my best
Chorus (Repeat)

Prayer

Lord, remind me that You see what others cannot. Help me to rest in Your understanding instead of striving for human approval. Give me patience when I’m misunderstood and courage to keep walking with grace. Amen.
