Day 17: In Your Rest

Theme

MS fatigue is not ordinary tiredness. It’s a deep exhaustion that can make even small tasks feel impossible. But God offers rest for the soul and strength that renews us from within.

Scripture

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 (NIV)

Devotional

Fatigue with MS can be discouraging because it doesn’t always respond to sleep. It’s the kind of exhaustion that settles in your bones and makes you feel like you’re carrying a backpack full of bricks all day long. You might even feel guilty for resting when the world seems to demand constant productivity.Jesus never asked you to carry this weight alone. He invites you to trade your weariness for His rest. That doesn’t mean your energy levels will magically spike — but it does mean your spirit can find peace even when your body is weak. When you accept His invitation, you’re saying, “Lord, I can’t do this on my own strength.” And He answers by giving you a strength that goes deeper than muscles or stamina — the kind that holds you steady when the fatigue is heavy. In Your Rest

Lyrics

Verse 1I’ve been walking through the valley, with my hands dragging lowEvery step feels like a mountain, every breath comes slowBut You call me to the quiet, where the rivers softly flowAnd You whisper to my heart, “Child, it’s time to let it go”ChorusIn Your rest, I find my healingIn Your arms, I find my songYou restore my soul with mercyYou’ve been with me all alongIn Your rest, I find my breathingWhen the weight is far too strongYou remind me I belongVerse 2There’s a table in the desert, there’s a feast for weary handsLiving water in the dry place, flowing from Your promised landAnd I’ll lay down all my striving, and I’ll trust what You have planned‘Cause I know You’re still my Shepherd, and I’m safe within Your handsChorusIn Your rest, I find my healingIn Your arms, I find my songYou restore my soul with mercyYou’ve been with me all alongIn Your rest, I find my breathingWhen the weight is far too strongYou remind me I belongBridgeYou are peace in the middle of my stormYou are strength when my body’s wornI will trust, I will lean on YouEvery day You make me newChorusIn Your rest, I find my healingIn Your arms, I find my songYou restore my soul with mercyYou’ve been with me all alongIn Your rest, I find my breathingWhen the weight is far too strongYou remind me I belong

Prayer

Lord, when fatigue weighs me down, help me to run to You instead of pushing past my limits. Teach me to rest in Your presence and trust that You’re working even while I’m still. Amen.
