Day 21: Safe in Your Stillness

Theme

With MS, physical exhaustion often combines with emotional and mental fatigue. Rest isn't just about sleep — it's about renewal. True rest comes from God’s presence, where your soul finds peace even when your body is weary.

Scripture

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 (NIV)

Devotional

Living with MS can make you feel like you’re always running on empty. Your body may be drained from symptoms, your mind may be overwhelmed by decisions, and your spirit may feel worn thin. In these moments, God’s invitation is not to try harder, but to come closer.Jesus doesn’t promise to remove every struggle immediately — He promises rest in the middle of it. This rest is more than a pause; it’s a deep, soul-level renewal that only comes from being with Him. Like a child climbing into a parent’s lap, we can climb into the presence of God through prayer, worship, and His Word. When you feel too weak to keep going, remember that rest is not weakness — it’s worship. By choosing to rest in Him, you declare that you trust Him to carry what you cannot. Music Link:

Safe in Your Stillness

Lyrics

(Verse 1)The weight I’m holding feels too much to bearThe world keeps turning while I’m standing hereBut You whisper softly, 'Child, just be still'In the quiet moment, I find Your will(Chorus)Safe in Your stillness, I’m made newEvery breath is filled with YouWhen the storm is raging, I won’t fearSafe in Your stillness, I know You’re near(Verse 2)The shadows linger, but they cannot stayYour light is breaking through the grayI don’t have to strive, I don’t have to runYour peace will finish what You’ve begun(Chorus)Safe in Your stillness, I’m made newEvery breath is filled with YouWhen the storm is raging, I won’t fearSafe in Your stillness, I know You’re near(Bridge)Your presence is my resting placeMy refuge wrapped in mercy’s graceI’ll lay it down, I’ll let You beThe strength that carries me(Chorus)Safe in Your stillness, I’m made newEvery breath is filled with YouWhen the storm is raging, I won’t fearSafe in Your stillness, I know You’re near

Prayer

Lord, help me to see rest as Your gift, not a weakness. Teach me to come to You when I am tired and let Your peace restore my soul. Amen.
