Day 27: Gold in the Cracks

Theme

Living with MS often means carrying scars — both physical and emotional. But God has a way of bringing beauty out of what feels broken. Like kintsugi pottery repaired with gold, our lives can display His grace in the cracks.

Scripture

"He has made everything beautiful in its time." — Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NIV)

Devotional

When we think of brokenness, we often imagine something ruined or useless. But in God’s hands, brokenness becomes a canvas for redemption. The Japanese art of kintsugi repairs shattered pottery with gold, making the cracks the most beautiful part of the piece. In the same way, the parts of your life that feel fractured can become the very places God’s glory shines the brightest. With MS, you may feel the sharp edge of loss — mobility, energy, clarity. But those very losses can deepen your compassion, empathy, and wisdom. They can create openings for ministry and testimony that perfect health might never have given you.God is not ashamed of your cracks; He uses them to tell His story of grace. What the world sees as damage, He sees as design. Trust Him to make even your most fragile places shine with His beauty. Music Link:

Song

Gold in the Cracks

Lyrics

(Verse 1)I’ve carried the pieces, afraid they’d fall apartTried to hide the fractures deep inside my heartBut You take the broken, You hold it in Your handsAnd pour out Your mercy like rivers in the sand(Chorus)There’s gold in the cracks where Your love comes throughEvery line tells the story of what You can doWhat was shattered is shining, what was lost is foundThere’s gold in the cracks, where Your grace runs down(Verse 2)The world calls it weakness, You call it a crownEvery scar is a victory of how You turned it aroundYou’re weaving the pieces into something newAnd every flaw is the proof that I’ve been held by You(Chorus)There’s gold in the cracks where Your love comes throughEvery line tells the story of what You can doWhat was shattered is shining, what was lost is foundThere’s gold in the cracks, where Your grace runs down(Bridge)You don’t throw away the broken thingsYou make them part of the song You singEvery wound a window, every tear a lightTurning all my darkness into something bright(Chorus)There’s gold in the cracks where Your love comes throughEvery line tells the story of what You can doWhat was shattered is shining, what was lost is foundThere’s gold in the cracks, where Your grace runs down

Prayer

Lord, take every broken place in me and make it beautiful. Let the cracks in my life be filled with Your presence so that others see Your glory shining through. Amen.
