Day 3: Anchor in the Storm

Theme

Medical professionals can offer incredible help, but their wisdom is still human and limited. True peace comes when we place our ultimate trust in the Great Physician, while accepting the care He provides through doctors and treatments.

Scripture

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.” — Psalm 20:7 (NIV)

Devotional

It’s tempting to put all our hope in a new treatment, a skilled specialist, or the latest medical breakthrough. And while God often works through doctors, medicine, and research, these are not our saviors. They can help, but they cannot heal every hurt or guarantee the future. There’s a tension in living with MS (or any chronic illness) — you follow medical advice, you take the treatments, you keep your appointments, yet deep down you know your health is in God’s hands. The real question is: where does your heart rest when the news isn’t what you hoped for?Trusting God doesn’t mean ignoring medical care. It means remembering that doctors are partners, not masters. It means holding hope for healing while also holding peace if healing doesn’t come the way you expect. Music Link:

Song

Anchor in the Storm

Lyrics

(Verse 1)
When the charts are filled with questions,
And the cure feels far away,
I can choose to trust the wisdom
Of the One who holds my days.
(Pre-Chorus)
Every breath is in Your keeping,
Every heartbeat in Your hands,
When the world feels like it’s shaking,
You’re the Rock where I can stand.
(Chorus)
You’re my anchor in the storm,
Steady when the waves are strong,
I will trust You, Lord, forever,
Even when the night feels long.
You’re my anchor, You’re my shelter,
Through the winds and through the rain,
I will cling to You, my Jesus,
My Redeemer, my Sustainer, my Friend.
(Verse 2)
Doctors bring their understanding,
But You write the final word,
Through the trials and the waiting,
I will trust in what I’ve heard.
(Bridge)
Not by power, not by striving,
But by Spirit, grace, and love,
You’re my healer, my provider,
Faithful God from heav’n above.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the skill and care of doctors, but thank You most for being my ultimate Healer. Keep my trust anchored in You, no matter what the test results say. Amen.
