Compassion fatigue is real. Pouring out care day after day can leave you empty, wondering if you have anything left to give. God promises to refill your cup when it runs dry.
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9 (NIV)
Compassion fatigue is real. Nurses, doctors, caregivers, and responders often pour themselves out until nothing seems left. The constant giving, listening, caring, and comforting can feel like a bottomless well that has run dry.
But God reminds us that the seeds planted in service are never wasted. Galatians 6:9 calls us to keep sowing good, even when the results aren’t visible yet. Every smile, every word of encouragement, every act of care becomes a seed in His field. Though your strength may waver, His promise remains: you will reap in due season if you do not give up.
Rest does not mean failure; it means you are human. Renewal comes in Christ’s presence, not in pushing past your limits. As you refill in Him, you’ll find the strength to keep pouring out. His Spirit keeps the well from running dry.

Refill My Heart — A prayerful ballad asking God to restore compassion when weary.
(Verse 1)I’ve poured it all, I’ve given every part Now I’m empty, Lord, refill my heart Tired hands, but a willing soul I need Your love to make me whole (Chorus) Refill my heart, restore my song Your grace is here, it makes me strong In every weakness, I find Your power Refill my heart this very hour (Verse 2)Every patient, every tear I’ve cried Every prayer whispered deep inside Lord, remind me You’re in it all Your strength lifts me when I fall (Bridge) You are the well that won’t run dry Your mercy flows, it satisfies I bring my weakness, I bring my need And find Your love is all I seek (Chorus) Refill my heart, restore my song Your grace is here, it makes me strong In every weakness, I find Your power Refill my heart this very hour
Father, when my compassion feels spent, pour Your love into me again. Help me see others through Your eyes, and remind me that Your strength is enough for each day. Amen.
