When the church wounds us, God’s healing is still greater. His presence meets us in the pain and restores what people cannot.
There’s a unique kind of pain when hurt comes from those we trusted most—brothers and sisters in Christ. We expect kindness and compassion, yet sometimes we experience judgment, rejection, or betrayal. These wounds cut deeper than many others because they strike at both the heart and the spirit.
But Scripture reminds us: it is God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Notice the intimacy of that promise—He doesn’t simply mend from a distance; He bends low, binds, and holds. Human hands may wound, but divine hands restore.
Healing does not always come quickly. Sometimes it feels like two steps forward, one step back. Yet every prayer whispered, every tear shed, every moment we open our hearts to Him—these are stitches of grace. Over time, God writes a testimony of His faithfulness in the very places where people’s failures left scars.
What people break, God can rebuild. What people reject, God redeems. Let the disappointment drive you not away from Him, but deeper into His embrace.
Music – Song Title: Bind Up My Heart
Gentle, worshipful ballad with acoustic guitar and strings, hopeful chorus about God healing wounds left by others (Psalm 147:3).
Lyrics:(Verse 1)
I trusted their voices, I trusted their hands
But they left me broken, I don’t understand
Yet You whisper softly, “I’m still here with you”
Your love is the healing that carries me through
(Chorus)
You bind up my heart, You’re mending the pain
Restoring the joy, bringing hope again
What people have wounded, You cover with grace
I find my redemption in Your warm embrace
(Verse 2)
These scars tell a story of where I have been
But You write a new one of mercy within
You take what was shattered, make beauty from dustIn You I’ve discovered a love I can trust
(Bridge)
Every tear, You’ve counted
Every prayer, You’ve heard
You’re the faithful healer, I’ll stand on Your Word
Psalm 147:3 – “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
Father, I bring You the wounds others have caused. Thank You for being the One who heals the brokenhearted and binds up our pain. Bind my heart in Your peace. Amen.
